A Note About Student Data
Rhetorix provides software to assist universities and other educational partners (collectively referred to as “Education Partners”) to facilitate academic assessments through asynchronous video capture and AI-enhanced grading features. By offering the Services to our Education Partner customers, we may have access to personal information relating to students, primarily as provided to us by Education Partners. We process Student Data solely to provide the Services and only according to the instructions of Education Partners. When we refer to “Student Data,” we mean information provided to Rhetorix which personally identifies a current or former student, such as their name, email address, or attendance information, or other data that can be reasonably linked to such information by Rhetorix. Student Data may include information contained in “educational records” as defined in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
While this Privacy Policy provides information about Student Data that we generally collect, use, and disclose as part of providing the Services to our Education Partners, our collection, use, and disclosure of Student Data are controlled by our Education Partner customers or students. If you have questions about how we collect, use, and process Student Data, please contact the Education Partner who administers your exams directly. Except where we explicitly refer to Student Data, this Privacy Policy applies to personal information about our Education Partners.

Information We Collect About Students
Rhetorix has access to Student Data primarily as provided by our Education Partner customers in order to perform the Services. The type of Student Data we collect will depend on how the Education Partner uses the Services, but could include information relating to individual students and their education records, such as names, student ID numbers, course enrollments, grades, their responses to academic assessments, and how students access our Services (including IP address and whether the student logged in manually or via single sign-on or learning management system). When an Education Partner directs their students to pay for the Services, we collect limited payment-related information (such as name and email address) directly from students. When students take an assessment using our Services, and at the direction of our Education Partner customers, we may collect information from the students themselves, including video and audio recordings of the students. From time to time, we may collect information from other sources. If we combine or associate information from other sources with Student Data we collect through the Services, we will treat the combined information as Student Data under our policies and agreements, including under this policy. If you have a question about how Rhetorix processes your payment information, please contact Rhetorix using the contact information listed below. For any additional questions about the types of Student Data that Education Partners provide to Rhetorix, please talk to the Education Partner administering your exams.
